Melody Joy Letford

Weeping Willow

Oh willow tree

you'll not fool me

your happier than most

I watch you sway with such delight

you mere can keep from boast, I see no weeping

no woes worth keeping

and yet in form you droop

know this dear tree

you'll not fool me

as I rest upon your stoop

I'll collect my nuts

I'll carve my cuts

Into your nimble limbs

then you shall see

Why willows weep

as me and mine shall keep

a home sweet home

forever loaned

Inside of you so deep
