Wendy C. Barton

Imaginary Lover

Hands, reach places

they should not seek

Eyes, see a soul

not meant for thee

Lips, passionatly pressed

in a forbidden caress

Whispers, build castles in the sky

supported by enchanting lies

Memories, contort and confuse

in loss, I have found a muse

Brightly burning in mind

real or imagined

frozen frames, in time

I originally wanted to post this under Love and Relationships, but somehow I wasn't really feeling that category. When I wrote it, I thought it was about loving someone. However, after going back to it,I found it has to do with the loneliness found when the feelings are only one sided. Or even, to have one believe they are real only to remove the veil at a later time. Perception, it's a bitch! ;)Authors comment
