Erika Seetzen-Woods

Deadly Demands

He heard the loudspeaker voices
Of the capitalistic world
Ringing in his ears:
Do your work!
Achieve something!
Become a useful member of society!
He did not wish to conform-

AND FLED THOSE DEMANDS.

Overstepped the law,
Disrespected society,
Hated authority.
Sheltered in the pink clouds
Of psychedelic culture,
Escaped reality
With the help of a fix,

Floating like a foetus
In the womb of illegality.
He became a slave to drugs,
A complete wreck and
Sadly,one soon tomorrow
He`ll lose his life,
Another skeleton in the fight against drugs.

HE COULD NOT FLEE ITS DEMANDS.
