Poppies

Poppies, my colours,
poppies, my life,
Red summer blossoms.

Poppies, my colours
growing in the sand.
Paper suns
of fragrant dusk.

Poppies, my life
like the shade of sunset
in murmuring water.

Mohnblumen

Mohnblumen, meine Farben,
Mohnblumen, mein Leben.
Rote Sommerblüten.

Mohnblumen, meine Farben,
die im Sande wachsen.
Papierene Sonnen
duftender Dämmerung.

Mohnblumen, mein Leben
wie der Schein des
Sonnenuntergangs
in murmelndem Wasser.
