Spring in the Air
The snow flurry
that cooled my cheek
dies all of a sudden away.
In a hurry
ice floes in the creek
drift towards the bay.
Wet overhang the limbs
of the weather-worn willows
the muddy path
where in circles swims
on the puddle’s small billows
a knot of rotten grass.
A dark bird sails low
across the snow-covered field –
hungry its cry.
Warm winds now blow.
To them the clouds yield
to open the blue sky.
