My Friend

You look like chasing rainbows in the night,
You try to catch the raindrops, when it's bright,
You're fighting, when the world long rests in peace,
You're free, but still you're hoping for release.

You cannot catch the wind in your small hand,
cannot rely on footsteps in the sand.
The stars up in the sky are out of reach,
and so are all the waves far from the beach.

So soon he'll come, the harvest of your life.
Your life seemed full, but still you feel deprived.
And when you count the things that you have done,
you may find really worth while there were none.

So keep an eye on every step you make,
think well about the risks that you will take.
There's one thing which you have to bear in mind,
Your Life is short and love so hard to find.

Don't give yourself away to useless things,
you'll never fly again with broken wings.
And when you fail, be sure there is my hand,
to catch your fall, I'll always be your friend...
