The Outing

Join us! Come with us,
In our petit bteau.

Well row up the rivers,

All the way up

To the stately chteau.

Where well drink tea,

And have chocolate gteau.

Well incautiously tread,

Through the fields, grass, and meads -

Oh, would you look at that!

The river is full of trout!

Quick, get your nets, rods,

And other fishing gear out!

Well catch some for supper,

With lemon, crispily grilled.

And drink with it some wine,

In pitchers. Deliciously chilled.

What a feast we shall have,

Til high is the moon.

Goodbye for now friends!

Please, come again soon.

Well have music and dance,

The next time youre here,

And fireworks too.

Theyll make us laugh, clap, and cheer.

Our excitement will buzz

Like crickets at dusk.

Au revoir, mes amis!

Mais oui, bientt!

Ici Vufflens,

Au canton de Vaud.
