Heinrich Baumgarten

Creation's Last Dream

Haughty one, naughty one - crown of creation!
Chances spent, out of hand. What will you do?
Earth is a battleground, victim of yours.
Specialized in any field, you mean to be mean.

Merciless, pitiless your exploitation:
Sources robbed, treasures tapped - looks like your plan.
Who is your enemy, who but yourself?
Suicide works, never fails. Do what you can.

God made Earth, God made Man. So destination
Be your guide, but your pride spoilt self- control.
Justice, humanity - devoured by greed.
Passion, incompetence gaining at speed.

Do not waste any time, nature's resigning.
We will see its agony. Ultimate count-down.
Crown of creation? Of course that's not you.
Sovereign of tyranny, you will die, too.
