The World Tree
With everything, a tie we share
What giant tree, beyond compare!
Upon its branch, I am a leaf
Down in his depths, only a thief
Beside his trunk, I am a maid
The eagle in the treetop stayed
A lively wellspring in the deep
A hungry deer, to him I leap
A giant with the force of earth
A cunning dwarf of humble girth
Down in the roots a toxic serpent
Incessantly gnawing, inadvertent?
Within its time, I'm but an hour
A spark within its boundless power
