Appreciating the simple things
..
You dream of a yacht
lying at anchor in a beach bay
surrounded by crystal clear water
And forgotten under a weeping willow
your rowing boat sways
quietly in the waves of the river
You long for distant islands
with their exotic flowers
and a sun lounger on the palm beach
But the cornflowers by the wayside
you carelessly pass by and lonely remains
the old wooden bench under the hibiscus
Du träumst von einer Jacht
die in einer Strandbucht vor Anker liegt
umgeben von kristallklarem Wasser
Und vergessen unter einer Trauerweide
wiegt sich Dein Ruderboot
still in den Wogen des Flusses
Du sehnst Dich nach fernen Inseln
mit ihrer exotischen Blumenpracht
und einer Sonnenliege am Palmenstrand
Aber an den Kornblumen am Wegesrand
gehst Du achtlos vorbei und einsam bleibt
die alte Holzbank unter dem Hibiskus
