Sunset glow
shines through
trees’ shadows,
spreads a pink
silken shawl
over ruffling water
and moves
the golden sticks
of reflected lights.
Blurred stars
stray faint glimmer
onto leaves’ ornaments.
One sparkles
over a solitary place,
no moving lights
tonight.
Seagulls ceased to cry.
Beaver has dived
into deep coolness,
smoke curls upward,
no wind, but
you can listen
do distinct sounds.
Your eyes reflect
unknown distance.
You’re part
of this dark,
clear night.
Diese dunkle, klare Nacht
Abendrotglut
scheint durch
die Schatten
der Bäume,
breitet einen
rosasilbrigen
Schleier auf
gekräuseltes Wasser
und bewegt
goldene Balken
gespiegelter Lichter.
