Tu querida cara

Nos conocimos como niños pequeños,
ya fuimos los dos al mismo colegio,
jugamos, aprendimos, crecimos juntos,
y un día, más tarde, llegué a ser tu marido.

Comenzó un largo tiempo divertido,
adelantamos entre sufrimiento y alegría,
hasta la vejez hemos sobrevivido,
la vida grabando hondos rastros en tu cara.

A mí la vejez me ha quitado la vista,
mis ojos se han mucho empeorado.
Pero eso decididamente tiene la ventaja

de que, mirándote, arugas no veo.
Veo tu querida cara reluciente y lisa
que me parece tan guapa como antaño.
