Irene Beddies

November

 

The sky is white and empty,
mist conceals the world around.
Faintly rises a tree
 as phantom from the ground.
Leaves – dead and brown –
softly are tumbling down.
 
 
 
Fall has assumed his reign,
has changed summer’s pleasure,
lets drip down rain
without end or measure,
commands entirely to decay
what’s still engaged in a last play.
