Mammy Market

It was in a blue painted brothel’ And the bulbs were painted Blue’ And the ladies were thick and short, Some weighing over four hundred pounds And the blue hallway was Dim and narrow, And the beer served was hot! tasted like piss' And the bar was filled with men smoke and sweat, an odour remained trapped in the air’ and the rooms were even more sorry brown walls decorated with shadows’ and the fan hanging from the low ceiling swirled in a slow motion, and creacked like hell! ‘the smell from the open window was that Of two weeks old urine and tissue Outside in the streets, Lit with a procession of candles Traders, broke players, robbers, truck drivers, whores And cops mingled. And there were others who were there Who didn’t know who they were or why they were there And the life out there was dingy and dark And the moon up there was distant, alone Even forlon Shiba (2011)[c]
