The Last Rule Of Trump!

'Tis the final reign of Trump,
Left standing alone;
All his faithful companions
Have faded and gone;
No soul of his kindred,
No ally is nigh,
To reflect back his bad deeds
Or give praise for a sigh!

I'll not stand by thee, oh despot,
To rule without end;
Since the tyrants are fallen,
Go, fall thou with them;
Thus sternly I scatter
Thy decrees to the wind,
Where thy followers and henchmen
Lie scattered and thinned.

So soon may I witness,
When power decays,
And from the dictator's circle
The minions fade away!
When loyal hearts stand silent,
And subjects have flown,
Oh! who would reign over
This desolate throne alone?

Based on the poem by Thomas Moore, "The Last Rose of Summer":
'Tis the last rose of summer,
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
No rose-bud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes
Or give sigh for sigh!

I'll not leave thee, thou lone one.
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go, sleep thou with them;
Thus kindly I scatter
Thy leaves o'er the bed,
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.

So soon may I follow,
When friendships decay,
And from love's shining circle
The gems drop away!
When true hearts lie withered,
And fond ones are flown,
Oh! who would inhabit
This bleak world alone?
